Kicking off the New Year in Taiwan

Happy New Year!  Happy Inauguration Day!  We hope you had a pleasant holiday and that 2009 is off to a great start.

Maxwell has had many "firsts" since our last posting:
  • Max enjoyed his first Christmas and first trip away from home at Costanoa (where his parents got hitched several years back).
  • We celebrated Max's "First Hundred Days" over dim sum brunch with friends and family.
  • Max embarked on his first international journey. Thankfully, he slept a good portion of the 14-hour flight to Taiwan.
  • Max survived five days away from his dad for the first time.  Alan was in China on business our first week in Taiwan (during which Max also had his first bout with jet lag--convenient timing, eh?).
  • For the first time, Max has been tolerating tummy time without screaming his head off.
  • Max caught his first cold. :(
  • In Taipei, Max finally met his Yeye (Alan's dad), cousins, Ian and Lia, and both great grandmothers for the first time.  Within 24 hours of arriving in Taiwan, Max met the president for dinner, too!
We're having a great time with the family in Taiwan.  Photos forthcoming.
